Sell your boat

We are happy to assist you with the sale of your boat.

As experienced water sports enthusiasts, we realise that a boat is 200% emotion. Much more so than a car or even a house. That is why we take the sale of your boat very seriously and proceed with great care.

The procedure for sale

The initial meeting often takes place at our office. There, we will be happy to tell you what we can do for you, how we work and what the costs are if we sell your boat.

We will then make an appointment on board to properly assess your boat. We will give you various tips on how to get your boat ready for sale and sailing. If desired, we can assist you with this. After all, our motto is to take care of everything for you. Selling a boat is often difficult enough.
Once we have earned your trust as the best yacht broker for the sale of your yacht, this will be recorded in a brokerage agreement and we will collect all the specifications of your boat.

In preparation for the sale, it is important that all boat documentation is available. This includes the original sales invoice or a VAT statement showing that VAT has actually been paid in the past. In addition, the CE documents are also necessary and we would like to have a clear overview of the maintenance history, preferably with invoices.

The key is for the buyer to have complete confidence in your boat. This will happen if they not only like the boat, but also if it is visibly well maintained and all the paperwork is in order.

It is our job as yacht brokers to achieve this together with you. Once your boat is ready for sale and ready to sail, we will take the photos ourselves, and optionally drone video footage. These photos, combined with good pricing, are crucial in attracting potential buyers to Wemeldinge.

We will provide you with substantiated advice on pricing based on market knowledge, database figures and our many years of experience.

The sales presentation is ready and the advertisement for your boat is presented on various national and international yacht websites. Of course, we don't forget the social media channels either.

Then the real work begins. The many phone calls, emails and viewings are carefully processed. The first goal is to reach a price agreement. This is recorded in a HISWA purchase agreement. Once the signatures have been affixed and the deposit has been received in the HISWA escrow account, the buyer of your boat can, if desired, have an inspection carried out. This inspection is fully coordinated by us. You do not need to do anything. The costs of the inspection are borne by the buyer. The completion of the inspection is carried out by us in close consultation with you.

The boat transfer is the final step in the sales process, during which your presence, and especially that of the buyer, is appreciated. The deed of delivery is signed by both parties. You will receive the proceeds from the sale of your now former boat, less our commission.
In the interests of transparent communication with you as our client, we have described the sales process in detail above.
